Laying tired in that drunken state
glass fragments all around.
Perhaps he might be dreaming.
Of a bright day in his town.
He rubs his sore worn tired eyes.
hoping to see the light.
holding out his hand with want
Who sees an end in sight?
Why does she wait so very long.
Patient by his side.
Praying he will need her
as the angel by his side.
Deep in her heart is love
weary as her tender heart is.
Troubled by the sadness
She loves with all she has.
Through deep despair and anguish
Reaching out to take his hand.
The angel leads him to the place.
His personal promise land.
He resides picking up the pieces
of his broken ripped up world
Looking at his life with tears
He's the straw spinning into gold.
