Hi everyone! Long time, no see! Sorry 'bout that. I have been super busy with life in general and I am working extra hard on my book so I just haven't had as much time as I would like to kick back in the Den and post and read poetry. But I have been writing some poetry as well as the book. This one was actually really strange because I wrote it in the middle of the night and thought I was dreaming that I had written it. But when I opened my notebook the next morning, sure enough there it was! I couldn't even remember what I had written; just that I had written some kind of poem. Here it is...not really sure what it means since I must have been "sleep-writing" but I think that makes it all the more thought provoking.

Without Warning

Without warning,
the toast burns
and time lies in wait
for no one.
Fly balls fly past
and no one is to blame.

Without a word,
money disappears.

Forsaken are the values
that were taught
years ago in Sunday school.

Without warning,
the earth moves.
And though you grab onto
the nearest wall,
plaster is only man made
after all.

And man,
without warning,
will fall.

Good write, Jessica; glad to see you here at the Den again! I have missed you (as I am sure everyone else has)! I have had moments where something will pop into my head in the middle of the night, and then I have to get up and write it down, or it is lost forever! But I have never dreamed of writing about something and then doing it when I wake up! Hmmm...never can tell when inspiration will strike; that is definitely the work of God! A wonderful write! Enjoyed~ (((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Texas, Karen Lynn. :D

Such thought-provoking lines came to you in the midnight hour. Now if it had been me writing these lines I would have blamed it on the sixties "flashback" everybody kept saying that I was going to have. Your poems points out the fragile nature of us mortals. Well done, whatever you were smoking.

Great truth, but when we fall God raises us up again if we let Him. Thanks.
