The Alabaster Jar, spoken of long ago
Within its translucent white, its flawless beauties show
Held within its size, the anointing of a King
Gave shape and aroma, that makes the heart to sing.

Such a jar is precious, no matter what the size
we cradled in our arms each day, that glory and that prize
as we were granted custody , to love and care that day
of an Alabaster Jar, the name , Courtney Jae

For within this fragile vessel lay, a spirit pure and fair
One of two, we gave forth praise, for this identical pair
But a shadow fell, to cover both , on that eventful day
For both would face a restricted life, being born with SMA

In order for the fragrance, to waft upon the air
There is a terrible thing takes place, a breaking and despair
For from within that little life, her sweetness formed a smile
And all the love of God shone through, and he lent her for awhile

The anointing of the King of Kings, from the jar of long ago
The importance of the inner things, to all the people show
As Courtney Jae will live, as the fragrance from afar
And in our hearts, we will ever keep, OUR ALABASTER JAR

By Grandad.

These verses were written to remind us that not all life lives long enough to bloom....Courtney Jae, lived 9 months and passed away with week before her identical sister Caitlin Jae.....see poem The Letter On the Table
