Houston Mennonite Church

I knew what I was doing

You knew I didn’t

Graciously you didn’t tell

And you loved me just the same

You kept me almost five years

You listened and you learned

I didn’t and kept talking

Spewing it all around

I needed to go

You blessed me with your tears

You didn’t forget me

I am gone and still you love

Ten years later

No longer am I who I was

No longer a Christian like you

I listened to you listen to me

You love and you are God’s

The older you get the less you know. Hopefully 20 years later will reveal truths. Patrick

Seems like a near tragedy to read this, but it is apparent that you and your former companion have made a necessary separation; shake the dust off, and move on, it seems to say. I feel an unchangeable decision, that is painful but very needed, take place. Almost felt like crying for the sheer knowledge of loses like this. Thanks for the sincerity, Dayvid. Nice piece of realism; the parting between you as the minister, and the church.
