Remember the Dance

Why can't I stop staring at your face on my phone?
Thinking of me, thinking of you; where I am you'll have a home.

Should I glide the thought of love through those cute, little ears?
Is it that tears roll down your rosy cheeks, pondering love's fears?

Yes, in a year we may part with gifts of two hearts broken,
Think: it all started at the dance, when the path of two hearts were chosen.

Relax in me and don't worry, for the winter will end anyways,
Trees sprout as students are out going off their many ways.

But any day you'll think back to the dance that was just for us,
Who would have known that one day we'd find that love wasn't just lust.

And we danced 'till the sun envied the shine in your eyes,
The moon left light for you to see your reflection through mine.

Intertwined we lined up the stars above,
Flowers falling on our warm embrace, race your heartbeat to find true love.

Will this memory be in vain, strained forever across my heart?
Or might I find one day that this spark was but a start.

Looking past days gone way too fast, I'll finally give it a whirl,
And Find a way, if I may, to ask you to be my girl.
