After all these years the dream has yet to become a total reality

He spoke with eloquence and pride.

He lifted the spirits of a oppressed and battered people.

He told us of a dream.

A dream that he believed would become a reality.

A reality that has yet to arrive.

There is still poverty and oppression.

There are still criminals and haters.

There is laziness and studity.

40 years have come and gone.

Some things have changed.

Still the dream is unfulfilled.

There are labels and judgements based on color.

An unbalanced system of justice.

Violence hearts who live cruelly in the past.

Leaders spewing words filled with hypocracy.

We are still divided.

Divided by race

Divided by social status.

Divided by money.

Divided by color.

The dream is unfufilled.

A dream of unity and brotherhood is still a slow process.

There are still many symbols of the disgusting past.

There must be a fight to make his dream a reality.

So sadly true, Arthur, and powerfully penned. We are also sadly divided by religious beliefs. Will mankind ever learn? I certainly hope so.
