all eyes following
the white glove

horns and reeds compete
with gulls

marking time
the surf and a distant light

intermittently the moon
through the clouds

between silences
a ship's bell

fireflies
dance among the stars

encore
a thunderclap

Yes, you've done it again. You've magically thrown all the best beach experiences into a blender, spilled them on to a page and gifted all your readers with a sense of aw and grace. Miss you. J'nia

Sounds like my kind of live, outdoor event, Gene! So vividly captured and makes me think slightly of The Sorceror's Apprentice: must be those Mickey Mouse gloves and musical animation! :)) Just leaves me to add the pitty-patt of rain marking the applause... Fabulous! xx

Lovely, Gene.
About the same time, I played three straight days at a beer festival near the Space Needle. The music, for those of us who heard it, was actually good. The the real symphony, in contrast to your tranquil one, was played out by the increasingly raucous crowd.
S here's my BIERFEST

No one following
The rules

Horns try to compete
With girls

Failed sound sytem
Hiss, crackle, blatt

Cancelling the beat
Cowboy yells

Constant sun
No clouds

Clinking glasses
Burp. belch

Time lapses between
The bars

"You can't quit now!"
Encore

Just for the fun of it. And it actually was.

Gene - Thanks for allowing me to feel the coolness of a night on the beach on this hot day in Georgia. Love the simplicity of the images. Especially liked the sound of:

horns and reeds compete

and the ending,
