The charm of history and its enigmatic lesson consist inthe fact that, from age to age, nothing changes and yet everything is completely different. ~ Aldous Huxley

Time ticks away,to it's own jaunty beat
Without hesitation, its steady and fleet
It waits on no mortal, obeys nocontrols
Theminutes, impatient.........while years slowly stroll

Time won'tbe negated, its right in your face
As seasons pass by... this old human race
Don't think us ignored, and the clock ticks away
We're humanity's floor show, in life's cabaret

Our faces...they change....our hair can turn white
As we lose muscle tone and diminish in height
The wrinkles and laugh lines that grandmothers had
Makes stocks in cosmetics, rise like a launch pad!!

Vitamins, aerobics, health food and such
Become a religion, obsession and crutch
But along with age, comes wisdom and peace
When uptight hangups can now be released

When I get older I know what I'd do
I'd cuss like a Sailor, and get half moon tatoos
I'd say what I thought, to whomever I pleased
While my kidsdread impending mentaldisease!!!

I'd still be polite, but don't cross my bad side!!
I'd tell you my thoughts with entitlement and pride
For HOURS ON END, I'd share them with you
With etcs, and soforths, and hithertos

I'd play with your patience and tolerance for sure
Tell you the hardships I've had to endure!!
I'd pass gass, with dignity, a natural function
While scratching and burping in rhythmic conjunction

Oh I can't wait till the day finally comes
When to VANITIES I no longer succumb
When my body is old, and this soul FINALLY fits
I'd been rolling MY own......and taking a hit (Kidding!!!!!!)

A rebel in menopause.......asenile child
Enjoying my life, as I grow and restyle
My behavior of years gone by long ago

I'd embellishwith glee....and add a halo!!!!!!!!!

Funny how we need the licence of senility to let it all hang out!! You'd have thought, being kids who invented the Teenage-thing, that we'd have "bin there and done that". This is a great celebration, Anita, and a reminder to me that the "why worry" factor should have been present at all stages of my life and shouldn't have bin put on hold until I was too feeble to enjoy it! Wish I'd discovered the comfort of thongs 30 years' ago!! LOLOL :))))))) Kate xx
