A New Rule

We are intimidated
Since yesterday
Or yesteryear
And time has stopped.
Molecule of love
Grows to a chain reaction.
Vicissitudes of love or lust
Have never yet so stealthily
Gripped both heart and mind.
Can we shake this virus off?
Must I fling caution to the ground,
Choose to let reason abdicate,
Its fate inexorably usurped
By love's importuning
With her seductive logic,
That presently seems reason?
So do you wonder that I obey
With cultivated abandon
My new-found reason?
