Your eyes measure the silent distances
Between dim galaxies even as your smile
Unveils the quantum wiles of energies
Pulsing in gypsy hearts of random quarks.
The Laplander’s communion with nature’s
Icy breath mingles with wondrous glow
Of auroras Lucy and kin of Olduvai
Journeyed north to embrace across eons
Of our prehistory --- Know all are captured
In your face as luminous, transcendent
Arches sculpted with Fibonacci grace.
Can you then doubt that for me this vision
Could launch a thousand pregnant metaphors
As glorious as Aegean fleets’ white wakes
Sailing to pliant foreign shores in quest
Of dreams spun from pungent reality?
Who can deny the trembling mysteries
Of the moon goddess as she enslaves
Word craft practitioners, compelling them
To plumb the depths of creation’s hidden soul?
If this be mere flattery, I never wrote a word
Nor poet’s inspired heart ever missed a beat.
