~ Beyond the wooden Gate ~

(part 2)

The gate creaks closed behind me, as I step onto the path,
I came upon a resting place and sat down on the grass.
A rippling mountain water brook, majestic redwood trees,
I leaned against it’s massive trunk, it’s life engulfing me

The path led to a clearing, a reflecting pond was there.
I heard a soft voice call my name, from inside the pond somewhere.
I startled for a moment, then I heard my name once more,
I knelt down on the grassy bank, drawing closer to explore.

I looked into the cool, clear water, searching for my face,
But found a new reflection, looking back from the same place.
"Are you the voice I hear", I asked, "from underneath the blue?"
"I am," the soft voice answered, "I’ve been waiting here for you."

"I have the words to guide you, to the next stop on your path."
"How will I know which way to go, this forest is so vast?"
"Continue on this path, until a fork shapes in the road,
Be sure to take the middle, to receive the gift you’re owed."

This reminds me of a fantasy book I've just finished.
So good Bonnie!
