|Beautifully written Christine. Family and togetherness are very much of our daily lives. I recently lost my oldest neice Vanessa on April 6th the day before my birthday. I had to be strong for my sister and family. I arranged everything so she would not have too. I feel the closeness and love that we were provided as children makes us who we are today. I work as an occupational
therapist in a nursing home and many of my
patients have outlived their whole families and
we are all they have. God has guided me in my
direction and gives me strength and courage to
do what I do everyday no matter how hard or
painful. This was my calling. Many blessings and
may peace be with you and your family. Melissa

|So nice that you Christine see the things that are the treasures of life. Your brothers kindness to your mother compares to your love for both of them. You are all so fortunate in your love and fortunate in your wisdoms. ;-)|

|The love and devotion of a son are special gifts to a mother. For in him she finds reassurance and affirmation that the life she gave him was a gift with many rewards. Intangible gifts of the greatest wealth. Christine, your Tim, your brother is a very special man, son, brother. I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael|

|Words fail me, dear Christine, as I struggle to take in your sad and heartfelt loss - and the beautiful appreciation of your gain, too: that awesome realisation of all that your brother has been, is and will be as you see him in this precious light of your mother's close aide. This seems like a Damascus-road experience: a flash of inspiration that has lain dormant until this the tragic catalyst. What a delightful family you are! Such integrity, beauty and wonder stem from your relationships - all bound together in the person who is and will always remain your dear Mother. May you walk the hallowed garden path of grieving together, arm in arm and bathed in the sweet fragrance of her presence continually with you. Great grace and peace be yours. Love always, Kate xx|

Ps. As a big brother, I can say my little brother is way smarter and more talented than me. (But my dogs like me better)

|This is wonderful in many ways, Christine--as a shining tribute to your brother, as a memorial for your mother, and as a skillfully written poem. It's a story of old age, and young devotion. The picture of "walking her past flower beds past the pain of growing old" is stunning. I will save this one!
