Just watched some grow up in my yard, so the colors you wrote of were all the more real to me. This was a creative way to express the place you find yourself in at the moment. Thank you for sharing:)

Dear Christine, I would be very surprised if you could say that you did not feel the pang of departure as these babies left their mother's nurturing. But it's okay. As others have written here, grief needs its season so we can heal. It takes time, more or less, depending on the individual. When my mother died, I felt after 3 years that I was finally through grieving. It shocked me to some extent to learn how long and fierce my pain of missing her could last.
This is a lovely writing, sweet and full of life.
Hugs,
Connie |

Your work is composed like the fine music you play, with true emotions and feelings. Yes, humour is one of the best cures we have to change the path of grieving to that of remembering with smiles those we loved and lost.

You are a very brave and wise woman but grief must have it's day and comfort from many can ease the burden you carry. Many of us have been through such a loss and know what you are experiencing so it is not to be considered as boring to us. The old saying Let Go Let God applies after the mourning and grief period.
Stay well and get back to playing your cello. Music is soothing to the soul. The bird analogy is a good one and I love it.

Come, sit by my side
I saw you run off and hide
And now the battle continues. . . . .inside.
Walk, hold my hand
Let me feel your heart beat
May I extend my joy that you can. . . . .repeat.
You don't have to say a word
Because I heard
Someone say special things that made the heavenly angels sing.
And now you wear her ring
Amongst other things
"Letting Go" brings understanding.
Understanding brings
Sanity
Back into an insane world.

Christine, One of the things we all have in common is grieving- for
we all have lost someone in our lives. I do not believe grief has a
shelf life, it lasts differently for each and everyone of us. I know
this, if writing another poem about grief will help, go ahead...

So tender and sweet, Christine. I have decided, after losing my mother, that there is most likely no one on earth that loves as fiercely and as protectively as a mother does. Your poem says it all; so very well done. Please don't cut short your time of grief, you need this now and we all understand... it just takes time.

Sorrow must be exercised from our souls, Christine, especially regarding one as loved as a mother. So, not speaking for anyone but myself, I did understand your last number of poems so much more than others and thought you very justified. I particularly like your opening lines here that make you appear as very much of a human being.

| You haven't bored us, Christine. It is your time to grieve, and how you went about it was just how it was. You have picked a wonderful subject for "letting go," with the baby birds dependent on their mother who fed them until she thought it was time . . . to let go. We all need to figure out how to let go when it is time. |
