A prayer for those coping with the loss of a loved one.

On bended knee, I say a prayer
For those whose loved ones are not there
The silent victims of the night
Breathing the sorrow of twilight
The broken souls whose scars are deep
With only memories to reap
Who see the world in darker hue
Without the blessed light they knew.

The special ones who fell from grace
With tears of sadness ‘pon their face
Left here on earth to mourn and grieve
The harshest pain one could believe
Their loved ones fly with angels now
Yet, they must carry on somehow
When morning winds whistle and moan
To start another day, alone.

On bended knee, I pray for peace
May burdened souls find sweet release
Within the harbor of God’s Will
Whenever loneliness instills
May Heaven’s Light bring faith and hope
To those who feel they cannot cope
Lead not their bereaved hearts astray
Within His Name, these things I pray.

I am going through this now; my uncle died yesterday (78), it was expected, but it is still hard. I can't even go home for the funeral, can't afford to. I also had a bad day at work yesterday, the worst ever! It was a nightmare!!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Burleson, Karen Lynn. :(

Jill . . . Thanks for this one! I have gone through this too many times myself, and somehow know that "too many" is still not all there will be. There is always a deep examination of ones feelings that accompanies the death of a loved one, whether they were embraced closely or kept at arms length, and it always seems to change something inside of us. An added too, or a taking away. I have enjoyed all that I have read of your poetic insights. You write with an abundance of spiritual light and love. Keep up the great work! Richard

Beautiful prayer of comfort Jill. Much needed by many and by all sooner or later. Though I have tasted of this sting, I know in His assurance I shold no longer grieve.
