A poem about the angels, whether friends or family members, who never allow us to fall.

An angel crossed my life one day
When I was least aware
That I would need someone to stay
And offer loving care
Her halo beamed of purest gold
Her eyes were crystal gems
Her smile was a sight to behold
When days became quite dim.

The angel seemed just like the rest
Her spirit, sweet and kind
Yet, this cherub had been quite blessed
Besides her selfless mind
She held a special gift, indeed
The kind that Heaven brings
She lived her life for those in need
Bound by her pearl wings.

Never before had wings of pearl
Been viewed by those on earth
And when their beauty was unfurled
The wings confirmed their worth
Yet, while the wings were rare and quaint
Their pure glory was found
Within the heart, so frail and faint
This angel would astound.

An angel crossed my life one day
When I was unaware
That I would need someone to stay
And offer loving care
Her halo shone in golden shade
Her hair formed brilliant rings
And never did I feel afraid
Within her pearl wings.

I wish that all could find the bliss
Uncovered that spring morn
When I realized that life exists
Far from the paths we’ve worn
Thanks to an angel, kind and sweet
Who showed what life can bring
When we choose to reject defeat
And find our pearl wings.
