A poem about finding one's inner voice and loving oneself, despite any flaws that may exist.

One rainy day, she sat and stared
As dark gray clouds passed by
Her mood was sure to be compared
To that lone, dreary sky
In sorrow, she embraced the gloom
And wondered what would be
If she would step outside her room
Into the world, carefree.

For many years, she set aside
The goals she could achieve
And gave all that she could provide
To those who still believe
True goodness comes to those who feel
Their calling is their own
Yet, through it all, she did conceal
The fact she felt alone.

Then, suddenly, a beam of light
Streamed downward from a cloud
To bring her goodness into sight
And prove her life endowed
She may not have great wealth or fame
But, she is standing tall
For though, alone, she can proclaim
She is special, after all.

It is interesting how the weather affects our moods. Waxing a bit autobiographical?

After reading most of your latest work and talking to you I think this write bares your soul and explains a lot about your inner self. You have a big heart, kind and true and yet you seem to mistrust how great you really are. If you could see yourself as others see you it would truly surprize you. Great write Jill
