Precious darling, spread your wings
You are meant for greater things
Go where you feel most as ease
With the Lord you long to please
Dance with angels, if you dare
Floating freely ‘pon the air
But, when the light of day is through
Remember how much I love you.
Your weary soul has found its place
Amid God’s everlasting grace
In Heaven, where you shall find rest
Within the walls His love has blessed
Be well, be still; your heart is Home
Upon the clouds where you shall roam
Until the final sands of time
Shall join your hand once more with mine.
Precious darling, dry your eyes
Although we must say our goodbyes
Your spirit shall live in my heart
However long we are apart
Your memory shall keep me strong
Whenever days become too long
I wish you well; be safe, be free
A friend of mine, you’ll always be.
