A poem about the hassles of life and our inner strength to conquer them.

At times, she wished she had a boat
That would take her away
To someplace peaceful and remote
Where she could spend each day
Without the hassle and the grief
The sadness and remorse
A site where she could find relief
From life’s uncharted course.

Her boat would scale the highs and lows
Of every passing wave
To shield her from the ebbs and flows
Should times seem dark and grave
A refuge from a mighty storm
Graced by a docile wind
Where she would feel secure and warm
With nothing to defend.

At times, she wished she had a boat
That would eclipse the tide
Keeping her precious dreams afloat
Despite life’s bumpy ride
But soon, she will realize her craft
Is docked within her heart
Her fortitude is her life raft
From which, she will not part.

Simply beautiful,Jill, and it is tremendously encouraging.
I especially like this: "But soon, she will realize her craft
Is docked within her heart
Her fortitude is her life raft
From which she will not depart.

Thanks so much for sharing, and continued success

Good writing, makes me bring back my cruise in 1997 to the Caribbean. Was nice sailing and I enjoyed the jacuzzi very much and the pool. Everyone was one happy family. wish I could go sailing today, but can't. Loved this poem.

Don't we all at one time or another wish for that seperation from lifes pressures and woes. This is a wonderful reminder that if we are looking anywhere but in our heart we stand little chance of finding it.
BEAUTIFUL!
God Bless,
