A poem about slowing our lives and taking the time to appreciate the blessings that surround us.
Be still when raindrops softly rest
Upon the luscious field
These precious moments should be blessed
For the calmness they yield
Times, such as these, have often passed
Before we viewed their worth
And yet, their joys were meant to last
As treasures of the earth.
Be still when babies gently cry
For their parents’ embrace
Enjoy the sweetness of each sigh
And each jelly-smeared face
Not long from now, these days will reign
As scenes from long before
Kept in pictures that we retain
Inside a dresser drawer.
Be still when coolness greets the air
And stars dance with the moon
Take time to smile, to laugh, and share
These moments will leave soon
Observe the gifts, precious and few
Which have grown to astound
And peace will be returned to you
Thanks to the wealth you’ve found.

|Oh Jill, your picture so matches to touches of realization to "be still..."- everyone seems to be going so fast. Beautiful touches of life's greatest blessings. Thanks Jill for the reminder. God Bless!
