I’ll cross my heart and pinky swear
For you, I will always be there,
I’ll prove how much I really care
By sharing lemonade.
I’ll climb the highest trees with you
Until the fun in that is through,
Then, share my mother’s tasty stew –
The one which is homemade.
When dinner’s done, we’ll run some more
We can play ball, if you’ll keep score,
We will not stop ‘til we are sore
And daylight sees its end.
Then, we will hug and say goodbye
Until the moon fades from the sky,
And we resume the reasons why
You are my childhood friend.
