A poem written, as a request, to acknowledge the departure of a co-worker.

My heart is at a loss for words
My eyes just want to cry
After the saddest news I’ve heard
Uttered in your goodbye
For many morns o’er many years
You’ve been there by my side
You’ve made me laugh and eased my fears
Along this earthly ride.

Whenever I wanted to leave
You showed me I should try
You taught me how I should believe
Each time I questioned why
You’ve given me what I have longed
By helping me to grow
You've made me feel like I belonged
Therefore, I’ll miss you so.

My heart is at a loss for words
In every tear I’ve shed
After the recent news I’ve heard
Of your new life ahead
I wish you well, as you move on
And praise you, openly
Life will be changed, when you are gone
Thanks for the memories.

She is truly going to feel blessed to have worked with such a thoughtful and caring young lady as yourself and no doubt better have the kleenex box handy.
