A poem, written as a thank you for supportive friends.
|
You are my oasis in the storms of life
The beacon of hope that always lights my way
A pillar of strength throughout moments of strife
The angel who walks beside me, every day
No other before you has ever instilled
The sense of compassion I hold in my heart
Our paths came together, because they were willed
By the Lord, long before our lives played a part.
You offer support and you dry every tear
So loyal and giving, you never ask why
With no regrets, you always take time to hear
You listen and prove that I do need to try
You are such a blessing; a gift without fail
A refuge when everything seems to go wrong
With your love around me, I know I’ll prevail
You lighten my load when I am less than strong.
You’ll be my oasis ‘til my journey’s end
A warm sense of comfort, amid earthen showers
Faithfully, you stand, as my guide and my friend
While helping me to focus on brighter hours
Not one soul before you has brought me the pleasure
I feel, every time that our two hearts are near
Indeed, you are an irreplaceable treasure
The shelter, allowing me to persevere.

Despite the fact it is written for friend, kind of got the same feeling as Lew. This has all the earmarks of a beautiful, loving, devotional poem. Very touching and lovely.
