Pull of Your Heart

Occasionally, when relationships end, the very things we admired most about the former love are the very memories that enable us to move on and heal.

Not so long ago, the pull of your heart
Felt more like a sweet symphony
Each dream we shared a true work of art
Softly stealing the breath from me
Your wisdom faultless, your glory immense
Your smile as smooth as summer rain
The feeling was one I have not felt since
One that I may not feel again.
The pull of your heart was what set mine aglow
The music that poured through my veins
A small glimpse of Heaven I was blessed to know
When I gripped those angelic reins
Together, we fluttered across the skies of blue
To fluffy white clouds and beyond
Each vision was well represented by you
For which I am evermore fond.

A hug and a smile, a wink and a glance
A memory to last for all time
Eternal shades of a special romance
Perpetually away from its prime
Our radiant starlight has now become two
Though separate and dimmer apart
Somehow, someway I know I’ll make it through
Recalling the pull of your heart.
