I was given the opportunity to write a wedding poem for the winning couple of the Clay Hill Farm 'Green Wedding Giveway'. The wedding will be held in Maine on June 21st. The contest examined the couple's commitment to each other and their commitment to helping the environment. I thought I would share my poem.
Dedicated to Joelle Guerard and Jonathan Blakeslee with best wishes for your life together.

Enrich your lives with nature’s glory
Embrace the joy found in your hearts
Let pristine rivers tell your story
Reflected in Heavenly art
Walk arm in arm across the meadow
Rest side by side in soft moonlight
Together, your dreams have united
For your love’s everlasting flight
Each day the sun shall shine upon you
Hand in hand, you will greet the morn
Above all things, your love will renew
More hallowed than when love was born
For all of time, your bond so treasured
Shall be a union, blessed in worth
Your souls’ commitment ever measured
By how you share your goals with earth
Whether on a pebbled walkway
Or kneeling where rich gardens grow
May your marriage serve to convey
The better world you long to know
A world where nature’s charm is present
Where love reigns larger than life
Thus, leading to a world more pleasant
Because you are husband and wife.
