Texas Drought

This poem is very factual for we have not seen measurable rainfall at my home since April 18th. Drought situations and our current heatwave have become dire and deadly. Please pray to whatever higher being you worship that we will soon be blessed by some rain.

The flowers are dry and the sky is blue
The grass has turned brown and the oak trees have too
The sun shines all day, no clouds are in sight
It’s 80 degrees at half past midnight
The bananas are growing, thinking it’s a jungle
The garden has formed something that appears fungal
The pool won’t stay filled and feels just like bathwater
This drought is far-reaching in what it will slaughter
We walk in the morning, an effort to breathe
We cringe at the heat wave; o’er dead plants we seethe
The dog drinks a quart of water before dawn
Yet, we put four times that much on our lawn
By noon, the heat has crossed the century mark
So bad, paramedics camp out in the park
More fish in the ponds are dying every day
When, oh Lord when, will this drought go away
The clouds that we know are the white, fluffy kind
As visions of raindrops vanish from the mind
Two months have now passed since we last saw a storm
It’s easy to wonder if one will ever form
The birds are now drinking from the swimming pool
Our current conditions are unsafe and cruel
Although, Mother Nature is acting quite vain
I hope someday soon, she will bless us with rain!

Jill,

Don't we know it. We've had some rain, but it all came at once - now we have none at all - 101 yesterday, 102 or 103 today - crazy. From one extreme to another, that's Texas. Well done. Stay safe, 'hear?

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Jill - This is such a beautifully written but SAD Poem!
I hope RAIN ( we have way too much, but I'll say no more) comes to YOU ALL Quickly!
Ofcourse I'll pray, I thought EVERYONE had rain about now!
Oh, I've seen this ON YOU Tube, do it ...What can hurt!
The rain we have is way too much and leaves our tomato plants stalky, and weak looking! and mud everywhere... YOU have the Opposite problem... RAIN! RAIN! RAIN! May I say that again, RAIN, into the Universe where Jill is!

Warmest Blessings and RAIN! Amen! Purple Lady Passion, SHEExooo

WRITE ON!
SOON, you will be saying "All this rain, I 'm tired of it" Amen! and God Bless!

I plan to take a Texas-sized drought of wine, sit on my deck, and wait for the next tropical wave... and don't you dare cut off my a/c, mister light company!

Hi Jill, And when it does, it will be like a monsoon! It always happens like that... at least for these parts. Do what Georg says... he will do it...

What you need bear Jill, is a Lakota Sioux Rain Dance.
Go to YouTube and write the above on the search square, hear the chant and let your spirit tell Manitou to grand you wish. He will do it.

We'll say a prayer for you my friend, we endured a drought last year and are now experiencing the total opposite as it has rained nearly every day or every other day for weeks and weeks. Our flowers are soggy the blooms are weak and my garden at times is like mud...everybody seems to be experiencing one extreme or the other...hang in there! Great write!
Blessings from Ky.
