Hello Everyone! I'm back!
This poem was written for and inspired by the Green Wedding Contest Giveaway in which I play a small part every year. Each year, couples from the world over submit entries expressing the parallels between their commitment to each other and the environment and each year, I write the winning couple's wedding poem. This year's poem, written for Sean Patch and Debi Pian, centered around their winning entry, the story of their love, and the contest theme "Pick your green shade." Best wishes to the future Mr. & Mrs. Patch for their wedding on July 11 in Maine and their life together

Your love for each other, both priceless and rare
Began on our nation’s oceanic shores
Over distance and time, your hearts merged to share
A mutual commitment to last evermore
Across miles and travels, the earth was your guide
She showed you her blessings found at every bend
The sacred bonds present with love at your side
and the raw necessities on which you depend
Your two hearts’ commitment to love and to earth
Shall be ever hallowed through action and deed
Your inspired pledge to conserve brings forth worth
Leading others to join your eco-friendly creed
Your respect for the planet, her waters and lands
Combined with your promise to be “one” for life
Now forms the foundation on which your love stands
From your new beginning as husband and wife
Your lives were connected by a choice not to waste
Your hearts were combined through a love, Heaven made
From this moment on, your two souls shall be laced
By a rich, selfless love, colored by your “green” shade
Your lives’ dedication to a better tomorrow
and your hearts’ true conviction to a lifetime of bliss
Shall reside in your souls throughout pleasure and sorrow
Assuring every day shall be as blessed as this

Your writing Jill is a work of art. Your rhyme is always absolutely incredable. I do not buy cards or I would look for yours.
GOD BLESS YOU

I can't think of a better marriage than one that respects the Earth. Good to read you again. Made me remember Patch Adams, that wonderful West Virginia doctor.
