If the whole world were blind, only the heart will be that which sees (a recalled poem written for a grade in high school)

We've never met

My friend is in awe because we've never met

but the love is still there never-the-less

Must one believe that we must indeed,

meet one another to fill all our needs?

If whole world were blind and could not see,

hearts still tell all the knowledge they seek

I cannot see you or hold your dear hand,

but I know in my heart you’re my brother and friend

Faith my dear friend is something precious and dear,

my blindness has taught me throughout the years

One day we’ll meet be it here or in Eden,

and I can assure you our smiles will be even

For when we do meet over there and not here

You’ll know when I see you my heart is sincere

Carolee Dennis-Woosley

June 1971

I've known men one on one and have never loved as sincerely.

Love ya!

We sent letters to our boys overseas during WWII, they were very appreciated. I can only assume maybe this was the case? But then you are too young to be around WWII so it must have been pen pals for others.

Dear Lady Lily, I do not know how some of your poems have escaped me. But it must be noted that you write a poem in the days before computer technology. Then it must be seen that this friend came through letters.

You are right dear lady, for if blind the soul could only see the inner you.

I bow and tip my hat to you

Lily,
As your work intones there are meeting of more depth than merely the face to face allows. I find it interesting that you wrote this while still a teenager. great.

Strange that you posted this poem today. I had something similar happen to me.

Love the poem. Loved what it said and I agree that you don't have to actually meet up with someone to have strong, positive (love?) feeling for them.

A timeless poem that everyone's meeting should feel like.
