A path to be followed will sometimes find greater things in the end, where the heartbreak will heal and love is found again ~Lily of Lough Neagh~

 A Blur in the Distance

For once we stood afore ourselves
Impassioned lovers twined
For so much was and so much felt
When I was yer Celt sublime

Though time doth pass ere aching heart
For nary more the touch
Clutch yer thoughts unto thee soul
Hold whispered words thee must

Let it be thee book of love
The lesson that ye learned
Let all this sweet ere tender days
Be something that ye earned

For naught it true ye did not know
The tenderness of love
Until this gentle o’ sweet dove
In eyes hath showed ye of

Let fingers slide apart from we
And take yer own deep breath
As gently ye do back away
A heartbreak yet yer path

For once ye walk on down the road
And I become the mist
A distant blur ye from yer past
A vision reminisced

For do not grieve or shed ye tears
A hug I give to thee
Start a brave and strong young soul
Your journey which ye see

For gallant lad I am with ye
Behind ye I will stand
Though just a blur in distance
Sweet memories ye had

For on you live and always will
Nary be afraid
Your heart reborn with that of love
With new one that awaits

For nary a course will be the same
For each are all precious
Just tend ye heart so full of love
To another ye must confess

In moments time just think of me
For when ye gave that kiss
To know the feel of tender hug
Aye a blur in the distance

I find these verses particularly encouraging. Since English is not my first language, I do have some "difficulty" in letting the old English vocabulary flow as easily as the more current language. Nonetheless, I believe I "get" this. Thank you for sharing, Carol. Love and best wishes,

This is an excellent write to past relationships. Love is and should be remembered for the good points of your life. It two are meant to depart, then it must be so. You need to rotate your poetry I almost overlooked it.

This one has an old-timey feel to it, like the nineteenth century. It tells a wonderful story about moving on while looking back and remembering what's in the mist. Very charming and quite seductive.

You are an angel Lily, you show it here in everything you do. This is just beautiful and I'm sure painful too. Great writing

Lily you have such a loving soul, I am sure it was bestowed to you from heaven above, that's where my husband is. I am sure you are the angel sent from god with your loving heart.

You are a beacon of love to all sweet lady. Never shall you dim or blur into a distance. That which is given cannot be taken back. Love is forever and if true never should they part. Hold to that which loves as much as you do.

Stay well and keep writing

Dear Lady Lily, the Authoress Diana is correct there is great forgiveness in these lines, but also great love for one so possessed of it as yourself.

Yes dear lady Lily, this is what love is

I bow and tip my hat to you

Whether it really happened or it is imaginary, it touches deeply to see how difficult it is to let one go.
But never turn around in anger, turn around and smile because of all the beautiful memories.
Turn around and look at the blur in the distance and smile.

Beautiful and deeply touching

A beautiful tale of a lover who gives that which is the truest measure of love, that which allows one to let go of the other if it is what the other wants or needs. A lovely tale written perfectly.
