A foundation starts with a grain of sand; love’s mortar holds them in place. ~Lily of Lough Neagh~

 Grains of Sand

Swift with me count grains of sand

As they trickle through our hands

Tickling texture whilst they land

Mounds of love o’ castle stands

Build with me please if you dare

My sweet prince with princess fair

Ends of grief now enter grace

Strong foundations soon our base

Quiet needs and peaceful winds

Warmth requite of cool rescinds

Candles lit to us enshrined

Glory held sorrows behind

Count with me our grains of sand

Love beheld sees how they land

Layered love now where we stand

Foundation built with mortared sand

Symbolically meaningful; and I believe that a grain of sand can become the rarest and most beautiful of pearls. A pearl is also symbolic depending on one's interpretation. Thank you, Carol. Love and best wishes,

I like the music of this one; it read for me like a 'spell' and that made it curiously in need of repeating. My favorite line is "Love beheld sees how they land." Seeing how they land.....I really like that. Goood one! ~~ Diana

I am a builder, well sort of. Looks like beach time, lots of sand there. All things start as a single element and grow to wharever you make of it. Some things last beyond a lifetime once created. Catles of love are ommortal. Wondeful write.

Stay well and keep writing

Ah, Adriaen said it for me and said it better than I would have. Grains of sand are the cornerstone to the castle that love builds. Without the grains of sand combining and supporting each other, there can be no love.
