I can relate to this completely although I do not understand why "love" seems to be so will o' the wisp like. I think you'll know what I mean. I am confused at times since I am greatly romantic, passionate and I don't worry much about what the "world" and "society" think. Thank you, Carol. Love and best wishes to you,

Understanding is the first step to forgiveness. Starting out with understanding can avoid conflict altogether. Your poem has a sense of longing that you haven't quite resolved.

My dear Lady Lily, life can be painful, but if for the best then the right choice was made. Again you show us your diversity between love and broken relationships very well.
I bow and tip my hat to you

| Bittersweet lessons are being learned in this poem, and I agree with Diana. Understanding is an optomistic word. Sometimes when 'in this life there does come change'it is exciting and fresh. This time I think, not so much. But an opportunity just the same, to grow and value life. Be well, Kathy |

| I like the symbol of a blue stone residing where love brought it. I am thinking the fourth line in the second stanza has a glitch and perhaps was meant to be "for things which did not come," ? In stanza five, I like the rising sun calming a trembling hand. That line gives rededming qualities. This poem carries a tenderness that ends the piece with "understand," a very optomistic word. ~~ Diana |

It's wonderful to keep a memento for all the beautiful precious moments there once were.
Let the sharp edges of the pain be softened with the remembrances this blue stone gives you.
Despite the pain, very beautiful Carolee |
