Winter in the Pacific Northwest

Dawn
Breaking gray,
Knees on the couch
As I gaze outward
Into the falling rain.

Clouds blowing low and fast,
Ferns and flowers leaning
Toward the Earth
In the falling rain.

A fire is burning
In the stove;
Glowing embers keeping me warm
In the falling rain.

I am alone at home.
Content
To remain within
My shelter from the falling rain.

It has rained for days,
And yet I stay,
Knees on the couch
Gazing outward,
Into the falling rain.

A delightful way to pass a rainy day.

Nicely done...rain can be a beautiful and sensuous thing at times...and other times it is a monotonous weight on the spirit...you have captured the last in these lines.
