Flying toward forever,
With a few stops left to make,
My itinerary planned and random,
Influenced greatly by the hand of fate.

I'll travel there to see you,
But I'll meet another along the way,
Because twists and turns,
And crypts and urns,
Define who I will see today.

I have whiled away the hours
With kings and heads of state.
I've been a friend to the lonely
Who wait at Heaven's Gate.

I am with you...
When you lie silently crying,
In the darkness of the night,
And my smile's as big as yours is,
When you are brimming with delight.

Some say...
Life is a lonely sojourn,
And that you leave as you arrived,
No richer, no kinder, no wiser in spirit,
On this you must decide.

In private moments...
When reflection of life draws nigh,
When there are no critics to sway you,
Silently ask yourself,
Who am I?

I love the rhythm in this stanza!

Yes, Frank...that is what mankind seems to do too little of
nowadays...ask themselves 'Who am I?'
Just excusing our weaknesses with the false idea that we are
at the end what we were at the beginning (as you so poetically
put it here), eliminates the need to take responsibility of our
actions. George says: "God knows."
