Who is it who's offended by Christmas?
What is it to which they object?
Is it Santa or Jesus who troubles them,
Or is it just because their checkbook's a wreck?

Will somebody please tell me,
The harm in bringing a smile to a child.
And also tell me why, I implore you,
Why the birth of Baby Jesus has been defiled.

It's not that rights aren’t being protected,
For the masses have lost their vote,
It's that the minority has replaced the majority,
And the intent of the Constititution has been revoked.

Religious freedom,
Is the premise on which our
Union was formed.
We learned to respect the views of others,
Without rendering scorn.

But our tolerance wasn't good enough,
Just as it never is,
And soon it was accept and embrace,
Anyone who happened to show up with a splinter cause.

But you know,
For me, it all comes down to Christmas,
And the love that I have for Christ,
And for the way that Christianity enriches us,
After Jesus made his sacrifice.

I must let others worship
In the manner that they see fit.
And I must never be politically incorrect,
Nor should I rock the ship.
But I will not concede anything,
When it comes to the birth of Christ,
Or the celebration that we have,
That honors His early life.

So you can have Happy Holidays,
Or Season's Greetings, if you must.
But for me and for those around me,
It will always be a hearty Merry Christmas!
