Languid heat
Claims all of body and soul
Reserves summoned
To observe the slim shimmer of leaves
In a breeze which intensifies the heat.
Breath is hot
Filling lungs with shallow gasps
Insufficient for productive movement.
Butterflies dance
A movement of love
While prey observe nearby
And everywhere is the sun
Beating down all life
Which seeks refuge where it may.
It is a day for reflection
For so rare is solitude
In this life of sight and sound
Where we cannot listen
To the spirits which surround us
Or the lessons that they bring
Guidance
Sung by angels
But never heard.
But I am here
In the shade of an old Oak tree
And I hear the hum
And I recognize the source
And the pain of life
Fades away
In the healing breath of angels.
Such is my soul on summer’s day.

Talk about a spiritually sensitive poem!
But I am here
In the shade of an old Oak tree
And I hear the hum
And I recognize the source
And the pain of life
Fades away...
Such is your soul... Fabulous write! --Charlie

| A restful poem encouraging us to take a break often from our daily routines and just breath in the fresh air and listen for angels. They are with us always but we have to make time for them too in our lives. |
