Orc.*
He woke to find the world accursed
& alone his solitude blessed,
Away far from that cruel world
He most feared in fetus curled.
& then he would leave for a crowd,
Until mad by its shouts aloud
He knew no place personal haven,
Cowered to a creature craven.
This theme of time, where he was sprung,
On what tapestry was it spun,
In what landscape wild raved he
Fallen Immortals let him free
A world of bondage, framed & hung,
Paradise gone to lost freedom.
* Orc. Rebelious Child.
The (First) Book of Urizen. William Blake

My thoughts have reflected since I was in my own mother's womb, that we are not born tabula rasa, into a blank slate...our cognitive mind, I think, develops black sheep or crowd follower, in the womb, we decide what of life's path we will take while we swim in amniotic fluid of the matriarch...I confirm Orc with DNA encoding. Society will try hanging a rebellious child with the conform or die hemp halter...little do the conformists know - this rebellious child has spent quality time in solitude and has carefully meditated and planned out her/his future of outcast enlightenment which sets the precedent for leadership with other points of light, spirit helpers, and kinship links. It is Darwinism - survival of the fittest. Like yourself, Robin, who has defied the hemp halter and traveled to many enlightened platforms of life's venue, a leader we have in you, Robin (Orc) as editor of Poetry Life & Times...it is so very good to see you posting...I have missed your enlightening poetry which is always a mind-challenging journey for me personally into the depths of your far-reaching, expansive mind...I do so appreciate you, Robin...be well...Blessed Be.
Warmly,
Sage |
