The Eagle

Our Nation's symbol that is always alert and vigilent.

Oh what beauty to see an American eagle soar thru the sky
Such grace as it rides the air currents far above
The mighty wings moving up and down as if waving to those below
The sharp eyes always vigilant, always ready

This soaring bird sees movement below and slowly moving around
Its wings swept back as it swiftly dives towards the ground
His mighty claws extend out and the sharp tips fold around the rodent
Then letting his wings move again into the air current he soars

This mighty bird is a symbol not only of the free spirit it has
But a symbol of a nation, a mighty nation that is envy to the world
At one time, there was a debate about our nation's symbol
The two symbols were a
Turkey and an Eagle

The Continental Congress debated and voted
And the winner was the Eagle by only ONE vote
This wonderful, mighty bird is the symbol of the
USA
Bold and decisive, it reaches out to all of us, to be like the Eagle
