A riveting reel of vapid fair weather clouds now showing

with a dusting of flicked ashes and blown smoke

drawn through the crack of the car window,

nary a notion that the diamonds in the dish bubbles

would lack the luster of his attention

or that his flippant answers would languidly billow

and then whip about beneath cloths pin despotic control,

just a quick latch turbo stroller

a new fangled dine n’ dash,

and the love errands,

picking it up

dropping it off

This sings of a relationship gone dry
only the expected moves and thoughts
are conveyed to make the days appear
normal...

I personally relate to this, Morgan. I see a life story chapter in this twelve-line poem. Gorgeous to me is: "or that his flippant answers would languidly billow/and then whip about beneath cloth(e)s pin despotic control," those two words: "despotic control" ring and ring and ring. I would sincerely love to read more of your writing in this vein and about these two characters and this relationship. "Today thru Sunday" is a great title. So, "Sunday thru Next Year?~~ Diana

An intriguing tapestry of age, gender, temperament and understanding with a thread or two of non-acceptance just to keep the reader and writer honest. Loved this one.

"Riveting reel"
"flicked ashes"
"dish bubbles"
"languidly billow"
"despotic control"
"a new fangled dine ní dash," haha
all these colorful phrasal accents give me the 'day in the life' feel, (I'm assuming) you strove for in this construct. Very little flows smoothly anymore out there. You poetic eyes see uniquely, MM, and your creative heart remains true. Peace and continued inspiration ... r

"lack the notion of his attention"

"flippant answers"

Those two lines pretty much tell the story, and if the done, "love errands" does quite nicely.

Powerful poetry that awakens thoughts and emotions; your verses elicit reflection, Morgan. Love and best wishes,
