CAR QUIZ

Can you name just one Russian-made car?
I can’t.
How about a Chinese car?
Me neither!

Iranian? Iraqi? Afghanistani? African?
All ZIPS to me too!
Spanish manufactured automobile?
Nope!

Do they make any cars in Switzerland?
I dun’no!
What about Poland? Portugal? Pakistan?
Am I just ignorant? How about you?

Who made the Vauxhall?
Do they still?
Sweden? Any besides the Volvo?
Or, does it fill the bill?

What about France?
What became of Peugeot, Citroen, and Renault?
Remember the Dauphine?
How about the Amphicar? Who made it?

Remember the Morris Minor?
Was it a Bloody Brit?
Or, Austin-Healey?
Did they just quit?

How about the Triumph?
Was it lost in the lurch?
Or perhaps it was only
Just buried under the Arch?

Can you name any from:
Bulgaria? Romania? Bavaria?
Czechloslavakia? Yugoslavia?
Or Lithuania even?

There’s a famous one from the verse above -
All its drivers do truly love -
Motorcycles also come from this dreamer -
Bavarian Motor Works makes the Beamer!

Here in America, there once were others:
Crosley, Hudson, Willys - Studebaker - even Henry J -
DeSoto, Reo, and little Nash Ramblers -
Have all gone away!

Packards, Kaisers, Tuckers, LaSalles,
And also Stanley Steamers -
Real Metal cars,
Created by Old-Time Dreamers!

Then, there once was the Dutch car,
DAF for Daffodil -
Had quite a history,
Visit the Ritzsite at will!

There are plenty more cars
of which to be read -
But, sorry Folks -
‘tis time for my bed!

Gave me a good laugh. Do you remember when they named a few cars after Indian Chiefs? The Pontiac comes to mind. My 2 all time favorites were the Opal and the Carmen Giah. Think I spelled that wrong. Hugs, J'nia

Ha! My very first car was a Hudson Hornet, when I was just a kid. It would go anywhere. I drove it across fields and through the woods. With never a flat tire. That car was tough as a tank, solid steel. It was probably my driving it that caused Hudson to stop making them anymore :-)

The pic was of a Nash Rambler,
If ya bought one you was a gambler,

Saw the other day on the road a V-8 Gremlin,
Built by AMC and not for the Kremlin,

Damn thing sounded & looked better than my Jeep,
But when they were built they were nothing but cheap...Ed

Very clever Tom. As long as Subaru doesn't disappear I'll be a happy driver.
Cheers,
Marcia
