We thought they'd never End -
Aah, Yes - Those Were the Days!'
RATED little 'r' ...

Her Peignoir

I only bought One set in my entire Life.
A Two-piece set of flimsy Chiffon.
The outer ‘piece’ was a beautiful, thin turquoise Blue.
The inner one was a sheer Black Negligee’.
This inner, or under ‘Piece’ -
Had but one shoulder Strap -
Designed thusly, so that one Breast -
Could easily ‘Beam’ at any Onlooker!
SEXY? Par Excellence’!
It was a Surprise ‘Honey-Moon’ Gift -
To be Saved until we reached Penn Hills Estates -
Way up in The Poconos!
Our very First Love-Making Act -
Occurred in our Own First Apartment -
The Actual Night of The Wedding -
May Seventh - Nineteen Hundred and Sixty-Six.
The following Sunday Morning -
After Mass (of course) and then Breakfast -
The Three Plus Hour Journey Began.
Candle-Light Dinner at The Stroudsburg Inn.
When I tried to order a Nice Wine -
Was quite chagrined - some kind of ‘Blue Law’?
So Solly Sir - NO ALCOHOL ON SUNDAY!
Bummer - but the Prime Rib was Excellent!
Onward and Upward!
Our Wee little cottage was more like a Shanty!
Amazing how Color pictures LIE!
And the Electric Light Fireplace was indeed Charming!
Time now for some ACT-SHUN!
I presented her with the Surprise Gift!
All wrapped finely in a Blue Bow -
No-No - Not THAT - the Peignoir Set - Silly!
She was Totally impressed that I even knew the Name!
Into the Bathroom to ‘Prepare’ She Went -
WOW! What a LOOKER she Was!
She Posed on the Bed as I Snapped off the Shot!
Aaaaaaah ! Her Peignoir Set!
I Remember with Fond Delight -
That Picture! That Night!
That Beaming Breast!
Thirty-Four Years Later -
When She Left Me -
The Honey-Moon Album was Left Behind -
THAT PICTURE - THE ONLY ONE MISSING!
ALAS! POOR PEIGNOIR!
I KNEW IT WELL!

Peignoir...sexy nightgown...item meant to induce bodice ripping passion from a besotted member of the male species or simply, "let's have sex t'night". Anyway you describe it, it's a good thing.
Too bad she left you, guess she didn't know that the peignor was what would stick most in your mind. |

She was Totally impressed that I even knew the Name
I, myself am quite impressed that you know the name!
PS: In my first marriage, I, too, rented a 'fabulous, romantic, honeymoon haven' in the Poconos.
What a disaster that was; Alas, as was my first marriage. |
