Turned Off The Pellet Stove -
Sure as Hell - Did Not Freeze!
Turned Both Ceiling Fans Up on High -
Air Mixing Now - Praise Be to Glory!
Ambient Temperature - Down in The Teens -
Outside Degrees - A Different Story!
Opened the Front Door -
Looked Out at the Snow -
Storm Door Shot Right -
The Wind Did Blow!
Snapped a Pic of My Car -
Can’t Tell It’s a PT Cruiser -
Storm Still A-Brewin’ -
This One’s a Bruiser!
From One Inch at Neighbor’s -
Up To Two Feet at My Door.
Our Side of the Street -
Snow Drifts Galore!
Ain’t Goin’ No-Place - No-How -
Not Even the Store -
Everything’s White Here -
In Old Baltimore!
Yesterday, Stocked Up on Vittles -
Got Plenty of Hootch -
Bought Four VHS Movies -
Watched Two Last Night - Me n’ Miss Gooch!

Governor on TV Says Record Snow-Fall -
Warning - Do Not Drive - For You And Me!
Off the Main Road, Up Over A Bridge,
Over Six Speed Bumps, Left at The Corner -
Under Five-Foot Snow Drifts -
Stayin’ Inside, Keepin’ Warmer.
Not Getting’ Out, Stuck Here -
For Two Days - Maybe Three,
In a Dead-End Trailer Park -
No Snow Plow Will We See!
So - Where Is My Snow Shovel?
All Tucked Up Secure -
Locked in My Shed-House -
Buried Behind Snow - Five Foot or More!
Brilliant? Maybe I’m Not -
Plan B - Is a Cute Little Spade -
Nestled In The Trunk of My Cruiser -
Under a Ton of White Stuff - Sits Its Blade!
Particles of Powdered Puffy Stuff -
Just Before Dark It Did Stop -
As The Winds Begin to Swirl it More -
The Flakes Go - Plop, Plop, Plop!

Want me to Fed Ex you some snow shovels, I got plenty. Although the Fed Ex guy probably can't even get through. Stay warm, and keep watchin movies - JFK was a good one.

|I love this, Tom. I remember the blizzard of '69 when living in a Chicago suburb my dog walked over a five foot hi chain link fence.
Knowing it was coming the day before we stocked up on Scotch, cigarettes (I smoked and drank scotch in '69) and made sure we had plenty of toilet paper and... No DVD's then, but Maxine and me and our four kids along with our dalmatian had plenty to eat -- and for her and me (really me)to smoke and drink -- and stayed warm watching TV and... Thank God we had plenty of toilet paper.
