Yeah - I took the Least -
Let’s review the ‘Failures’ -
And consider the Cost:
Failed to save my Old Marbles -
Mom put them in the Trash -
Which caused some Quarrels.
Failed to save my Comic Books -
Originals from the Fifties -
Same Fate - gave her Dirty Looks!
Failed to ‘die’ once in a While -
Playing ‘Cowboys n’ Indians’ -
Was too ‘Invincible’ to Buddy Wally.
Failed to say ‘yes’ and go to Mt. St. Joe’s -
Mom and Dad would have Scrimped and Saved -
And gone without any ‘Fancy Clothes.
Failed to accept MSTA Scholarship -
At Seventeen, who would want to be a Teacher?
On my shoulder then - t’was a Big Chip!
Failed to go to MIT - become an Engineer -
Miss Gross was Quite Perturbed -
Gave me a lot of Razzmatazz n’ many a Jeer.
Failed to Propose to Sweet Little Sue -
One Really Big Mistake - Later a -
“Dear John Letter” left me - Oh So Blue!
Failed to stay Civilian back in 1960 - September -
Joined USAR and went away to Fort Knox -
Which Killed Love’s Dying Ember.
Failed same year to stay at SSA -
By now I’d be a GS-18 Level -
A Cabinet Member Maybe?
Failed to stay at JHU - back in ’73 -
Wouldn’t have gotten ‘Screwed’
Out of Seven Years towards Retirement - Oh Me!
Failed to Sue CPPA - back in ’74 -
Failed to Sue CH&H in ’75 - and KA&W in ’83 -
Three CPA’S - pushed me out the Door!
Failed to stay in First Home, back in ’79 -
Additions on it - RV in the Driveway -
Second Home in OC - Oh So Sublime!
Failed to Win Suit against RK&K in ’98 -
Collusion of their Lawyers and the Judge -
Threw my Case out the Gate!
Failed at - AMWAY - AAI - PRE-PAID LEGAL -
Even HERBALIFE and other Pyramid Schemes -
Was a Lousy Liar - more a Dove than an Eagle!
“Two roads converged in a Wood”
Took the one Least Traveled -
If I had my Druthers - All might be Unraveled?

| It's the big "If only" isn't it? I don't think I have met anyone over 50 who hasn't had some regrets. A part of life I guess. Too bad we can't live it backwards. Hugs, J |

| You've managed to send me down Memory Lane, and there are so many roads I could have, and probably should have taken, and didn't, but there's only one on your list, I truly regret. I also let my dear old Ma throw out my comic book collection, and I just know I had an original Superman in there somewhere - some guy just got $1.5 Million for his!! |

| WELL TOM...YOU'VE PUT A GOOD QUESTION OUT THERE AND THIS IS HOW I LOOK AT IT. BEING A CHRISTIAN, I BELIEVE THAT "...ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THEM THAT LOVE GOD...." SO THAT ANSWERS ALL MY WOULD'VE, COULD'VE, SHOULD'VE QUESTIONS BECAUSE I KNOW THAT GOD WAS WITH ME ALL THE WAY AND... WHERE I AM RIGHT NOW? IS JUST WHERE 'HE' WANTS ME TO BE.
