"You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I'm telling you why - Santa Claus is coming to town. He's making a list, and checking it twice, gonna find out who's naughty or nice - Santa claus is coming to town. He knows when you are sleeping, he knows when you're awake, he knows if you've been bad or good, so be good for Goodness' sake! Santa Claus is coming to town!"

How many of you "Old Fogies" out there remember that little Ditty? Which special parent or Grand-parent sang it to you, bouncing you on his or her knee?

Did you stare in awe-struck wonder? Were you a Good little Boy or Girl?

Remember, my Dears. it is the Spirit and the Thought that COUNTS!

Here is my little Fantasy - hope you Enjoy! Tom.

A Visit With Chris

'Twas the Eve before Christmas,
when all through our home,
not a critter was stirring,
not even a gnome.

The stockings were hung,
by the fireplace, with care,
in hopes they would dry,
without a snag, or a tear.

I, in my "jammies",
and Ma, in her "nightie",
had just snuggled up,
our minds were quite "flighty."

When out on the grass,
there arose such a racket,
I sprang from the waterbed,
and tripped on the blanket.

I tore open the curtain,
and peered out the blind,
slipped on the rug, and
promptly fell on ... my behind!

There on the lawn,
in the new-fallen snow,
was a broken-down sleigh,
and a sad voice moaning, "Oh, NO!"

The little old guy
wasn't so quick,
and his soiled red outfit
seemed wrinkled and sick.

I put on my robe,
and dashed for the door,
slid on some tinsel,
and fell to the floor.

I got to my feet,
"Tippy-toed" to the porch,
hollered out, Howdy Dude ...
Do you need a torch?"

Ole Chris Chringle then
said,
much to my surprise,
"I could shoot this here
Rudolph ...
Right ‘tween the eyes"!

"He forgot to change his batteries,
which light up his nose,
and now, we're indeed ...
Lost, I suppose".

Down to the basement,
we flew, quick as a wink,
I grabbed some new "alkalines,"
while Chris poured us a
drink.|

He raised his glass,
and gave me a toast,
saying, "Tom Hyland -
Lad, you're the most!"

Back to old Rudolph, we dashed ...
Like two corsairs,
and re-kindled his nose,
now much brighter than flares!

I gave Chris directions,
checked them twice ... to be sure,
up, up, and away ... both he and the sleigh,
rushing toys to tots ... in old Baltimore.

I heard him "boom" out,
in a voice jolly and light,

"Thanks to you ... Tommy Lad
I can finish my flight" !

As I stumbled back inside,
it seemed all like a dream.
The cookies and milk were gone,
but there in their place,
stood a bottle of my favorite-
Bailey's Irish Cream !

Dedicated To All the Santas out there - each & Every One!

I'm glad I stumbled on to this one, Tom; clever, apt, and timely. Thank you for the smiles. Love and peace to you,

What a xmas gift he left you. I would of loved to be there to share it with you. I think this is funny and too funny for words.

How cute, how funny, Tom. Well written, did detect a couple of flow problems, but over all very good. ~~Bonnie Q
