It seems at times
that nothing goes well
a friend gets angry
the kids argue
the cat throws up
the dog eats your steak

Oh me oh my
I'd like to cry

Someone steals your credit card
you got 1000 emails in one day
all spam and junk mail
hubby loses his job
and is rear ended on the way home
then gets a speeding ticket

I have no clue
of what to do

our furnace gave up the ghost
on the coldest day so far this winter
as 24 inches of snow flaked down
shutting off electricity in our area
and covering the wood
we use in the woodburning stove

oh for some heat
to warm my feet

it seems the closet
has shrunk all my clothes
and the dog chewed my new shoes
while the dryer lost one of all my socks
so now I must wear two colors of socks
with my ruined shoes

what do I care
a pair is rare

I accidentally grabbed the cat's tail
when I meant to grab my warm gloves
the cat jumped two feet into the air
landed on my head for a second
then leaped onto the sleeping dog
who jumped and crash landed on the computer keyboard

what's going on
I'm set upon

my tv is broke
my 'puter is frozen
the cd player spins and makes not a sound
the roof is leaking
the car has two flat tires
and the dog ran away

oh can it be
I have bad chi

but through all these irregularities
I have managed to keep a smile on my face
and thank the Lord for blessings
like falling asleep at night
and not getting run over by a car
or abducted by an alien ufo

the world is daft
if one can laugh
