A silly poem with a 'seasonal' flavour. Don't forget to check out the other festive poems in my list.

I'm a Turkey right? What's all the fuss with holidays?
I've seen my friends go one by one. A parting of the ways
It always seems to be when humans celebrate events
That's when my friends all disappear. It doesn't make much sense.

Now Turkey's have quite simple needs, like food and sleep and sex.
Why is it some get nervous of the word that starts with X?
It's on a bit of paper hanging loosely on the wall
A bright red circle round it, like the word - I think it's 'Fall'.

...The conclusion to this poem is among one of 100 poems in Shane P Ward's compilation, LOL Poems (Poems that will make you Laugh Out Loud). Available through Synergebooks from Christmas 2012. See

With a few cleverly penned words from the inside of a turkey's head, you've brightened my day. Excellent humor.

A turkey's perspective on the holidays. Truly one of today's bright spots after going shopping for Thanksgiving. Too cute.

God bless you and have a blessed Thanksgiving. Kathy

Shane, this is so good. What a clever idea to tell it all from the turkey's perspective. You did a wonderful job with it.
Warmest regards,
