I Never Won The Lottery Again

Many people dream of winning that life-changing sum of money. I am no exception, as you might be able to tell from this little offering.

I never won the lottery again.
Another quid gone down the pesky drain
Six numbers on a ticket
Why oh why can’t I just pick it?
Life is so unfair – it really is a pain.

I never won the lottery, its true
Five numbers, not enough, it just won’t do
Four makes my wallet open
And three numbers – just a token
But I’m lucky if I manage even two

I never won the lottery – distress
No riches for my wife can I impress
It’s driving me berserk
That I’m going back to work
This dread doom is something that I must address

I never won the lottery – bad luck
My winning streak is dormant, hindered, stuck
It really isn’t funny
Cos I need a pile of money
I’d be happy as a pig in pigging muck!

I never won the lottery – Oh no
But that’s the way life is; go with the flow
Tomorrow luck could switch
Go from poor to filthy rich
So perhaps, my friends, I’ll have another go

I have blown a buck or two
Had the same bad luck as you
You'd think I'd have that lesson learned
But no I'll flush some more I've earned
Right straight down the lotto toilet
Hope that good luck won't let bad luck spoil it

Funny, Patrick

LOL! I never won the lottery again because I don't have the money to play. But if I did ... sigh. Well done, Shane!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Very good poem.
Though, I thought that you'll continue and tell how you decided not to wait until luck knocks on your doors, but at last to buy a lottery ticket.

Winning the lottery is the poor mans dream & I am there with you whenever I can afford to plunk down another dollar...(though I have heard bad things about people who have won the "BIG" money, bad luck that just once I would gladly accept) Ed
