All We Know

All We Know

All we know is what we feel
And time- that never tiring stream
Wears all away that is not real
Till all that's left is but a dream.

My dream I gave the name of you
That took my heart and soul away
And made me beg God it be true
A beggar now day after day.

A beggar, I can never choose
As every soul must some day learn
But there is something we can't lose
Who live with hearts that love and yearn.

A life of constant fret and care
"Lover" is such a lonesome name
But it's the one I'll always wear
To miss and love are both the same.

So here's to all I'll ever know
This constant dance of joy and fear
And love that will not cease to grow
For hope you will again appear.

there is an intense sense of coming to terms with yourself in this poem ... you've developed it with much introspective emotion ...
