Spike Milligan once wrote a verse entitled "Things That Go Bump In The Night" that ended "It's the hole in the ear that lets in the fear, that, and the absence of light", and its very true that darkness can irrationally conjure up our darkest fears.

Creature Of The Night

In mock anticipation I feel your presence,
My blind eyes afford you sanctuary.
Breathing closer, threatening,
I must survive until the morrow.
Who knows what the dawn will hold?
Not you, oh creature of the night.

That's what night lights were invented for, lol. Sorry I am in a rare form tonight. Loved the poem. And yes, daylight has it's perks!

You are so right about the darkness, and yet it's so strange, as everything that was there in the daylight is just as it is in the evening.
