The Cradle of Shape
by ~ Chanti

Monday, August 27, 2007
Not rated by the Author.

The painting is my own creation that I entitled 'The Lovers'

THE CRADLE OF SHAPE

Move profoundly into me
like an inspired thought.
Shift my sands
with your currents
that ebb and flow
with the power
to shape rock.
Sing with me
to the melody
of our beating hearts.
Hold me close
in the cradle
of your shape
- a shape
that fits like a piece
made for my shape alone.
Melt into me
like candle wax
under the flame
of our heat.
Know me...
Intimately
Inside and out.
Race with me
within the quickened
pulse of our blood
For we are
an intricate design
set in the frame
of our love.

Yes, I am back thank you, Chanti . . . the poem is superb in its ritual telling of amor empowering and all-encompasing, just as your painting, which I understand completely, is saying the lovers meet the other in convuluted ecstasy . . . gotta love it . . .

The way you echo the roccoco forms of the painting in the shape of the poem is masterful. Bravo.

The poem moves like the two bodies it is a projection of; and it makes the act not just one of flesh but also of soul. I guess this is what "soulmate" means.
