I was very sad to hear you news, Chanti, knowing the impact it would have on you. You've captured something so essential in the words of your poem. Sometimes all we can do is describe and portray, no more than that.
We breathe more than air; our life is more than years; our connections are more than in time; our memories are the seeds of futures.

I know how hard it was for you to write this Chants, and how difficult the past few weeks have been. Rupert was so very blessed to have you as his sister. You were always there for him through thick and thin. I'm sure he's looking down from a better place now and that his youthful laughter will be forever heard at Dassies' Rock.

| It seems a travesty to make any critique on this. This poem comes from where poetry should always spring; emotion, deep and comprehensive. This speaks eloquntly, yet frankly about your state of mind right now. Enraptured in the escape of sunlit days gone by, and weighted by the stark reality of your loss. This is beautiful, moving, and honest. My most sincere condolences on your loss. |
