Raging River of Life

A raging river with skies of blue overhead,
white caps prance with their mighty splash,
to live or die, to prosper or soon be dead,
in a world of yesterday nothing ever last.

Survival is a mixture of luck and human skill,
while forces of nature beckon upon our door,
a struggle of one’s body, heart, soul and will,
the conflict wages for living is a constant war.

In the mist of the battlefield we find tomorrow,
another dimension but the same playing field,
filled with laughter, solitude, and much sorrow,
we venture forward with faith as are only shield.

Beauty and the beast clash in mindful illusion,
where cherished moments fade into the light,
left with memories, hope and utter confusion,
each day fighting to survive before the night.

In this world of love and hate, anger and pain,
we move forward clashing in the raging river,
hearts filled with emotion, drenched in the rain,
holding onto faith and love until it is delivered.

So much truth and depth in this and you've tied in the imagery real well, too.

A battle field indeed with the blessings to fight through another day, deeply philosophical...

There is much difficulty in our troubled world and you have described it well. I especially like the sentence, "we venture forward with faith as are only shield."

How true are these lines.
